Picture this: Your parents took you out shopping for new clothes, one day. Then your mom let you choose where you want to shop at; the Department Store or at your favorite boutique? Well, you will think that the answer is so obvious and pick the second one. It’s not just because of the brand, nor is it because of the variety of items you will pick from, but because of something even more. Something you consider a necessity. It’s as if you’re not only taking with you the item alone, but also…the PAPER BAG.
As I have said, the paper bag is marked essential for the youth of today, especially to us, students. But what’s so special about it? Is it so precious that some would like to use even fake ones? I clearly understand that students need paper bags so that they can carry things that cannot fit into the bag, but is that even the main purpose of having bags made out of paper? For me it’s not. If you are eco-friendly, you would say that you use them because they’re safe to the environment. True. However, in my opinion, others use paper bags to show off the brands that they usually shop at. It is their way of bragging since they can’t use or wear the item in school. Another reason is others are trying to use it as a status symbol to keep up or to cope up with others. The truth of the matter is, it is not wrong to use paper bags. I, for one, am so fond of collecting paper bags. My mom even gets irritable everytime she sees a ton of them in my closet. Let us just be humble and meek when whenever we use them. Let us use them for our own ease and comfort and not for other people’s envy. Why am I saying this? I am saying this because for me, we should personify or embody the Josephian attitude which is being modest students and citizens of our country.
There you have it folks, your first dose of my blog. Let us keep in mind that these are just material things and we should not be taken over by these for these could do us any good. Now, who has the Holiday Feature paper bag for Starbucks? Oops, just kidding! Might as well say, “It’s all in the Paper bag!”
